12 Things Plus a FREE Thanksgiving Wallpaper Download

I’m just trying to slow things down and savor this season, and maybe that means decorating a whole month early for Christmas. That’s my prerogative.

1. I am officially one piece of furniture short from revealing Annie B’s nursery (even though she won’t sleep there for a while after she’s born.) My parents got me the most beautiful glider that should be delivered this week, and I can’t wait to get everything put together!
2. The chalk board that hangs over our dining room table was actually a mirror. It cracked in store and apparently replacing the glass was almost as expensive as the mirror itself, so I made an offer on the frame and turned it into a chalk board. I get asked about it all the time, but I’ve yet to find anything like it! It’s nice to have something so one-of-a-kind in the house, and it cost me less than $30 to put together.
3. I’m almost ten weeks out from my due date, and every time I think about it, I get a little queasy. I’m not one to get super nervous until right before something is about to happen, so staying calm, cool, and collected is going to be a challenge.
4. My favorite holiday is coming up, and this is the first year that we’re hosting! My grandmother is coming into town to stay with us (our first house guest!) and we’ll be cooking all the Thanksgiving food, with the exception of the turkey. I’m still not ready for that kind of responsibility. But I’ve got my decor all planned out!

5. This weekend is our last wedding at our venue for 2018, and I’m excited to wrap up the season. It’s getting more and more challenging to be on my feet for that long, and we’re approaching our busiest season in the store. Time for some laser focus.
6. The weekend after is my best friend’s wedding, and I’m flying to Texas at 31 weeks pregnant. WOW. Definitely did not think I’d be traveling like that this late in my pregnancy, but I’ve been 100% cleared by my doctor and I’m trying not to psych myself out about it. Besides, I love Texas. It’s like a totally different world. If you know, you know.
7. I accidentally started a FIRESTORM on Instagram when I asked about how soon everyone decorated for the “holidays.” After a heated debate, I’ve determined that there is a difference between holiday and Christmas-specific decor. And according to y’all, the only acceptable decor this early can be described as “winter harvest.” So specific.
8. I love to look at pregnancy hashtags (#29weeks) to see what other women are feeling at this point in their pregnancy. It’s so strange to see when our hormones cause us to feel the same crazy things at the same time. Right now, mamas in the beginning of the third trimester, including me, seem to be getting some serious nesting symptoms. I can’t stop cleaning and organizing. Every time I finish a project and think it’s perfect, I come back the next day and completely change my mind. EVERYTHING in my house apparently has room for improvement.
9. I have still not put anything on the books to get our Christmas card done. I kind of want to say screw it at this point, but if I can’t do it now, how will I find the time to do it when the baby gets here?

10. Millie is snoring as I type.
11. Tanner has been being sweet times a million lately. I wake up with him to make his lunch and pop a bagel in the toaster for him, but he wakes up so early that I usually just go back to bed for a little while after. He comes in and tucks me back in and talks to Annie for a while. It’s hands-down the best part of my day.
12. I really slacked on staying active for a while, and I could feel it. I’ve been using the free workouts in the Tone It Up prenatal section to get moving a little bit in the morning, plus going on nice long, slow walks in downtown Beaufort when the weather allows. I’m already feeling 1000 times better, and not experiencing as many third trimester symptoms, like back aches and swelling.
